Welcome to the eCenter, a new program committed to enhancing our community, economy and environment through the reuse of electronics and computer technology. We opened April 15th, with a ribbon cutting with the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce.  Interested in learning more about our progress?  Sign up for our eNewsletter!

Programs of the eCenter
Throughout our first year of operation, we plan to begin offering the following services:

Computer Refurbishment, Resale & Recycling: The eCenter will serve as our community's all-purpose, one-stop shop for electronics refurbishment and recycling. 

Computer Technology & IT Support Internship Program: Information Technology is one of the fastest growing career fields in the country.  By partnering with the Ithaca Youth Bureau’s Computer All-Stars program, the eCenter plans to offer a training programs designed to teach all age groups the basics of computer repair and information technology. 

Low-Cost Computer Tech Support & RepairThe eCenter will provide individuals in our community with low-cost tech support and repair services performed by trained interns and volunteers. Click here to learn more.

Low-Cost IT Services for Nonprofits: The eCenter will work to serve the needs of local nonprofit organizations by providing full service IT support, including computer installation, network design, software provision etc.

Educational Workshops on Computer Technology & Reuse: The eCenter will offer an array of workshops throughout the year spanning from internet safety, freeware and software tutorials to basic hardware repair and creative reuse.

Computer & Electronics Donations Policy (Read All our Policies)
The eCenter will begin accepting computer and electronics donations at noon on April 15th.

Items We Accept:

Computer Related Equipment: Computers, Monitors ($5 acceptance fee for CRTs -- Read Our Policies), Laptops, Printers/Scanners, Wires, Cables, Hubs, Routers, Audio/Visual Equipment, Circuit Boards, Copiers, Fax Machines, Network Equipment

Home Electronics:
DVD Players, CD Players, TVs**, VCRs, Cell Phones, Game Consoles, PDAs, Telecommunication Devices, Electronic Grames, Calculators, Clocks

Business Electronics:
Office Electronics, Medical Electronics, Bank Equipment, Scientific Equipment (not glass)

Items We Do Not Accept:

Floor Model Copy Machines, Cracked CRT or LCD Monitors, Non-Working TVs, TVs over 27'' (unless LCD/LED).

We need your help!  As most services and programs offered by the eCenter will be volunteer based, we are looking for a group of committed individuals to help our center launch.  Whether you can commit to a few hours each week or one weekend a year, we can use your help!  Volunteers can help at the eCenter in a variety of ways, many of which do not require technical expertise.   To get involved, please fill out the following online volunteer form, so we can match your interests to our needs.  Thank you so much!
