Acceptance guidelines may change based on space availability or quantity.
Building Materials
We accept a wide variety of building materials in reusable condition.
Household & Miscellaneous
We accept a wide variety of household goods in clean, reusable and working condition.
Furniture
We accept a wide variety of household goods in clean, reusable condition with no stains, tears, or odors.
Appliances:
We accept most small household appliances in working and clean condition
We accept appliances that are 7 years or younger in reusable working condition.
Computers & Electronics
We accept:
We accept most consumer electronics in reusable working condition; some electronics may need to be reviewed by staff before accepted
PLEASE NOTE: There will be a $5 handling fee charged for CRT Monitors, and monitors must not be cracked or physically damaged.
Other Items
We also accept: Hardware, tools, office supplies, gardening supplies,
sport/exercise equipment, art work, quality kitchenware, art and school
supplies, healthcare equipment, pet supplies, antiques, collectibles and more!

Unacceptable Items
Finger Lakes ReUse does not accept recalled items*.
Building Materials
We do not accept:
Moisture damaged, cracked, broken, rotted or warped lumber or plywood
Lumber shorter than 6’ or plywood less than ½ sheet
Glass shower doors
Doors with broken panels or cut unevenly
Hollow core doors
Custom color sinks, toilets, tubs (avocado, blue, etc.)
Windows with missing or broken glass
Single light window sashes
Cabinets with missing or broken doors
Counter tops shorter than 12”
Used carpet
Partial rolls of tar or felt paper
Broken, chipped, or stained tiles. Tiles that have mortar or glue on any side
Incomplete aluminum storm doors or windows
Hazardous, toxic or combustible materials such as gasoline, kerosene, paint, etc.
Recalled items
Paints, Adhesives, chemicals of any kind.
Household & Miscellaneous

Toys or puzzles
Cribs, strollers, car seats
Life saving devices such as car seats or booster seats
Personal care items such as hairbrushes, nails care items, etc.
Car parts or car related items
Clothes or shoes
Blankets or bed linens
Curtains
Venetian blinds
Fluorescent bulbs
Books
Audio/video tapes
Furniture
We do not accept:
Office cubicles

box springs

Humidifiers, air conditioners, air purifiers
Wood panel microwaves (they just aren't cool anymore!)
Appliances (large and small) that are exceptionally dirty or cannot be easily cleaned
Computers & Electronics
We do not accept: TVs older then 7 years old

The ReUse Center does not accept household hazardous materials,
such as flammable liquids, toxic waste, chemicals, paint, used
thermostats, used smoke detectors, or thermometers. Household hazardous
materials may be disposed of at
Tompkins County Solid Waste & Recycling Center,
at 122 Commercial Ave, Ithaca. For more information,
